A group of kids from the nearby Garrison Elementary School visited the garden in March and planted snow peas, lettuce, and potatoes. When I asked what season it was — so they could maybe see when to plant what — one young girl said, “I know. I know. Flu season.”
You gotta love these puppies to grow them. They’re very labor-intensive. The growing season is long and the cooking process longer. First you squeeze out the bean from the pod, then you parboil the bean to loosen the exterior, then you cook them. Yummers. I bought the seeds in a French hardware store. Je les aime.
